Make Your Own Skincare, Blended for Your Skin

To make your own skincare, you need good bases, smart add-ins, and someone who truly knows skin. Our skincare bar brings all three to your gathering. It's hosted by licensed estheticians, meaning licensed skincare professionals.

Our founder formulates the bases, and every base is unscented on purpose. So each guest adds her own fragrance, which is the whole point. For the party version, see our DIY skincare party. Or read about our full mobile skincare party.

Why make your own skincare with an esthetician

Store shelves are full of products made for someone else. However, your skin has its own story. It may feel tight in winter, or it may break out under stress.

At our skincare bar, adults formulate for dry, acne-prone, or anti-aging skin. First, an esthetician helps each guest choose a direction. Then she adds oils, serums, and add-ins to suit it.

Because the bases start unscented, the scent is entirely yours. Some guests want something bright, while others keep it soft. Plus, each formula is kept on file, so a favorite is never a mystery.

Skin-smart tip

Think about how your skin feels in January versus July. Then share that with your esthetician, because it shapes your add-ins.

What you can make at the skincare bar

Adults choose from four products, then personalize each one. Also, you can pair the bar with mini-facials.

Facial Moisturizer

A custom facial moisturizer starts from an unscented base. Then you tailor it to your skin type for daily use.

Body Butter

DIY body butter is richer and thicker than lotion. So it's lovely for elbows, heels, and winter skin.

Lotion

Lotion is lighter, so it sinks in quickly. That's why it's a nice choice for hands and everyday wear.

Scrub

A scrub polishes away dry, dull skin. Guests build it first, then scent it however they like.

Oils, Serums, and Add-ins

These boosters personalize every formula. Before you add one, your esthetician explains what it does.

Mini-Facials

Pair the bar with a relaxing mini-facial round. It's short, gentle, and given by a licensed esthetician.

Small groups shine

Reserve your skincare bar

Adult skincare bars suit 20 guests and under. Adult events are quoted per event, and a 50% deposit holds the date.

Make your own skincare night ideas

When you make your own skincare with friends, conversation flows, so these ideas give it room. Each one works for a small, close group.

Guest formulas are kept on file after the bar. So you can always look back at exactly what you made.

Occasions for a skincare bar

A skincare party for adults feels calm, thoughtful, and a little indulgent. It also travels to Milwaukee and Indianapolis with our local teams.

Ladies' nights

Friends trade the usual dinner for a hands-on evening. Our ladies' night ideas share more.

Bridal showers

Guests make something useful, rather than another trinket favor.

Bachelorette weekends

Add a calm afternoon between busier plans. See our bachelorette ideas, too.

Moms' nights out

Moms finally make something just for themselves, and nobody needs anything from them.

Small birthdays

A close group birthday feels personal when each guest blends her own formula.

Kids and teens

Younger guests make a simpler product, such as a body butter, lotion, or scrub. See our kids skincare party and teen skincare party.

Where a skincare bar feels at home

The bar needs about 12 x 6 feet and two 6-foot tables. Then we bring the linens, bases, and add-ins.

Living rooms

A cozy room suits this calm activity, especially with soft lighting.

High-rise condos

City condos work well, and the views also make a lovely backdrop.

Restaurant private rooms

Lunch first, then a skincare bar, keeps the afternoon relaxed.

Hotel suites

A bachelorette or girls' weekend can blend right in the suite.

Mokena studio

From January 2027, our private room seats up to 40, though skincare bars suit 20 and under.

How we help you make your own skincare

  • Share your group. First, tell us your guest count and date. A group of 10 to 15 usually runs about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Get your proposal. An itemized proposal arrives within 2 business days. Then a 50% deposit reserves the date.
  • Review ingredients. Before the party, you receive full ingredient and allergen disclosures.
  • We set up. Our team arrives 1 hour early and dresses each table in linens.
  • Blend and scent. Guests formulate with an esthetician, add fragrance, and take everything home. Finally, we pack out.
Planning note

Skincare bars shine with smaller groups. For a larger crowd, ask us about adding the Lip Lab or a perfume bar.

Skincare bar questions

Who hosts the skincare bar?

Licensed estheticians host it. Our founder, a cosmetic and skincare formulator, creates the bases.

Are the products scented?

The bases are unscented. Instead, guests add the fragrance themselves, which is half the fun.

Can I formulate for my skin type?

Yes. Adults can formulate for dry, acne-prone, or anti-aging skin, using oils, serums, and add-ins.

How many guests work best?

Adult skincare bars suit 20 guests and under. A group of 10 to 15 runs about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Will I remember my recipe?

Yes. Guest formulas are kept on file, so your favorite isn't lost.

Is this a facial appointment?

No. It's a hands-on bar where you make products. However, you can add a relaxing mini-facial round for the group.

Do you come to Chicago condos and the North Shore?

Yes. We set up in Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast, Evanston, Wilmette, Glencoe, and Lake Forest.

Do you host skincare bars in Milwaukee?

Yes. Our Milwaukee team has local staff and equipment, serving Whitefish Bay, Mequon, Brookfield, and Wauwatosa.

Is the skincare bar available in Indianapolis?

Yes. Similarly, our Indianapolis team brings it to Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, and the city.

Can we host it at your Mokena studio?

Yes, after it opens in January 2027 at 19060 Everett Blvd, Suite 107. The private room has a kitchen, and adults can bring their own drinks.
