Luxury Perfume Bar Pricing, Published in Full

Adult perfume bars start at around $500. Children’s parties start at $475. Fragrance consultations start at $450. Below is every number we have, what moves them, and the three things we never add.

No travel fees · No automatic gratuity Setup and cleanup always included

How much does a perfume bar cost?

Perfume bar pricing starts at around $500 for an adult perfume bar. Children’s parties start at $475 as a base for up to eight guests, and one-to-one fragrance consultations start at $450. Every event is quoted individually, because guest count, station count, staffing and time on site all move the number.

Those figures include everything needed to run the event: all materials, a take-home bottle for every guest, hosts, styling, setup and full cleanup. There are no travel fees anywhere in Chicagoland, Milwaukee or Indianapolis, and no automatic gratuity.

In practice most event vendors will not publish a number, and the reason is usually that the number moves. Ours does too — a bar for twelve is very different than a bar for two hundred.

However, that is not a good reason to make you fill in a form to learn whether we are in your range. Therefore this page publishes every starting price we have, the things that move them, and the charges we never add.

In short: the number on your proposal is the number you pay.

Skip ahead and just get the number.

Send us the date, roughly how many guests and the occasion. Then we will return an itemized quote.

What moves the number

Five things that change perfume bar pricing

In short, these are the variables in our perfume bar pricing.

1

Guest count

The largest single factor. More guests means more materials, more bottles and more hosts so the line keeps moving.

2

Style of bar

How large the scent library is and how deep the experience goes. A signature bar and a full bar are not the same event.

3

Time on site

A ninety-minute shower and a station running across a five-hour reception are staffed differently.

4

Stations

A second station — a bath bar or Lip Lab alongside — keeps larger rooms moving, and is itemized separately.

And the fifth: custom branding. Labels carrying a name, date, monogram or logo are quoted by quantity and design, and printed in advance rather than at the event. Therefore they need deciding when you book. In practice they are our most popular addition for weddings, corporate events, mitzvahs and quinceañeras, where the bottle doubles as the favor.

Ready for a real number?

Date, venue, guest count and roughly how long you have the room. In short, that is all we need to quote accurately.

Worth knowing

Why perfume bar pricing uses a starting price, not an hourly rate

In short, an hourly rate suggests the cost is the time in the room. In practice most of it happens before we arrive.

Because every booking reserves your date, it means turning down other work for it. Meanwhile the materials are prepared in advance in our lab and studio, the team is scheduled, the certificate is issued to your venue, and the styling is packed to your palette.

A two-hour event and a three-hour event cost far more similarly than an hourly rate would suggest. We quote the event rather than the clock, which is also why the number does not move on the day.

In addition, gratuity is never added automatically. It is welcome and never expected, and 18 to 20 percent is the usual range if you would like to.

Weddings

Wedding perfume bar pricing, and why the math works differently

Weddings are the question we are asked about most, and they are also the one event where the number deserves a second look.

A perfume bar at a wedding is doing two jobs at once. It is the entertainment during cocktail hour or the reception, and it is the favor — a bottle with your names and date on it, made by the guest carrying it. It comes out of two budget lines rather than one, and most couples find the comparison lands somewhere they did not expect.

Set against a favor budget alone, it is often close to a wash. A candle or a bag of almonds runs a few dollars a head and mostly gets left on the table. Meanwhile a fragrance somebody blended themselves goes home in a purse, and it is still in a bathroom cabinet a year later.

Wedding stations are quoted per event, on guest count, hours of coverage and whether you would like custom labels, custom decor, specialty linens, your display, your bottles and other factors. In practice couples book us for cocktail hour, for the reception, or for a station that simply runs all evening while people come and go.

Where the money goes

Why perfume bar pricing sits where it does

A perfume bar is a luxury service, and we price it as one. That is a deliberate choice, so it seems only fair to show you what actually sits behind the number.

The materials are the largest part of it. We work with absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils — the same class of material used in fine fragrance, and priced accordingly. A single kilo of jasmine absolute or orris costs more than most event vendors spend on an entire booking. Because we formulate everything ourselves rather than buying pre-mixed bases, that cost lands on us directly.

Then there is what goes in the bottle. Every perfume made at our bars is an eau de parfum strength. That is a generous concentration, and concentration is precisely what costs money. A weaker blend would be considerably cheaper to pour and would not last the evening.

And the work is done by a trained perfumer. The scent library, the signature accords and the base structures were developed by our perfumers in our own lab in New Lenox, not purchased from a kit supplier. Consequently you are paying for a composition rather than an assembly.

How perfume bar pricing compares to a store floor

This is the comparison most people have not made, and it reframes the number entirely.

A good eau de parfum at a department store counter runs $200 to $300 and upward for a single bottle. At a perfume bar, every guest leaves with one.

Therefore a party of eight is not comparing $500 against a craft afternoon. It is comparing $500 against eight bottles of fine fragrance, which at counter prices would be comfortably north of sixteen hundred dollars — and none of those would have been made for the person carrying it.

In addition, the perfume bar replaces two budget lines rather than one. The entertainment is handled, and so is the favor. Meanwhile nobody has to shop for either.

The four choices behind the number

There are four levers every perfume bar can pull, and where a company lands on them is really what you are choosing between.

  • Real perfumery materials, rather than the pre-blended oils made for candles and soap
  • A generous concentration, so the fragrance is still there at the end of the evening
  • Hosts at the table, so nobody is left working it out alone
  • Setup, styling and cleanup included, rather than itemized as extras

We have picked the same side of all four, every time, and the price reflects that. Meanwhile a company that has chosen different materials or service can quote a lower number and — it is simply a different experience

Before you compare quotes

Four questions to ask before comparing perfume bar pricing

Two quotes can look identical and be describing very different afternoons. So these are worth asking of anyone you are considering — us very much included.

1. What materials do you use?

This is the question that matters most, and it needs a definition first.

Fragrance oils are ready-blended scent compounds sold by the bottle, largely for candles, soap and bath products. They are convenient, they are consistent, and they are a fraction of the cost of perfumery materials. Meanwhile absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils are the raw materials of fine fragrance, bought by the kilo at prices that run into the hundreds and sometimes thousands.

Consequently the materials cost sits in a completely different place depending on which a company works from. That is usually the honest explanation when two quotes come back far apart, and it is a fair thing to ask about.

2. What concentration is the finished bottle?

A commercial eau de parfum typically sits in the mid-teens. Ours is a 50–60% concentration of fragrance material to perfumer’s alcohol, which is why it is still on you at the end of the evening.

Because concentration is the biggest single driver of what a bottle costs to fill, it is worth asking for the number rather than the adjective. Any company will happily tell you.

3. Who composed what is on the table?

Some perfume bars are run from purchased kits, which is a perfectly good business and a genuinely different product. Ours is composed by a trained perfumer in our own lab in New Lenox, Illinois.

In practice the difference shows up when a guest asks a question. A host who can answer it is a host who was given something to work with.

4. Can you see the ingredient list?

Ask for it in advance. Anyone proud of their materials will send one happily, and it genuinely matters if someone in the room has a sensitivity.

By occasion

Typical perfume bar pricing by occasion

Rough shapes rather than quotes. Meanwhile yours will be its own number.

A bridal shower

Ten to twenty guests, one station, one host, about two hours. Usually the lower end of the range, and everyone gets real time at the bar. Bridal shower perfume bars.

A bachelorette weekend

We come to the rental house or the suite, so there is no venue to book. Bachelorette perfume bars.

A wedding station

Running across cocktail hour or the reception, with custom labels. Because it replaces the favor, it removes a line from the budget too. Wedding perfume bars.

A baby shower

Seated, calm and entirely optional for any guest. Full ingredient disclosure provided in advance. Baby shower perfume bars.

A corporate event

Scaled to headcount, with branding and a certificate for the venue. Corporate perfume bars.

A children’s party

Priced separately, from $475 as a base for up to eight. We do quote fewer guests and more guests but up to 8 kids or teens is our base packages. Kids & teens parties.

Tell us your occasion.

Because every quote is itemized, you can see exactly what each line is and remove anything you do not want.

Before you ask

Perfume bar pricing: common questions

How much does a perfume bar cost?

An adult perfume bar starts at around $500. Children’s parties start at $475 as a base for up to eight guests, and one-to-one fragrance consultations start at $450. Every event is quoted individually on guest count, style of bar, staffing and time on site.

What is included in the price?

All materials, a take-home bottle for every guest, hosts, styling, setup and full cleanup. In addition, certificates of insurance naming your venue are also included at no charge. Therefore there is nothing to add afterward.

Do you charge a travel fee?

No — not anywhere in Chicagoland, greater Milwaukee or the Indianapolis metro. Our pricing is identical in every market we serve. Meanwhile we travel beyond those areas for larger bookings, quoted transparently in advance.

Is gratuity added automatically?

Never. In practice it is welcome and never expected. If you would like to, 18 to 20 percent is the usual range, but nothing is added to your invoice unless you ask.

Why is a perfume bar more expensive than other party activities?

Because the materials are fine fragrance materials, and they are priced as such. We include absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils rather than only working with pre-blended oils sold for candles and soap, and every perfume is an eau de parfum at higher concentrations. Meanwhile the comparison worth making is not against a craft activity: a good eau de parfum at a department store counter is $200 to $300 and upward for one bottle, and here every guest leaves with one.

Another perfume bar quoted me less. What should I be comparing?

Ask what materials are in the bottle. Fragrance oils are ready-blended scent compounds made largely for candles and soap, and they cost a fraction of what absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils cost. So two quotes can look alike and describe very different afternoons. It is also worth asking the concentration, who composed the scent library, if real perfumers are on hand, and whether you can see the ingredient list in advance. Anyone proud of their materials will answer all four happily — and please do ask us.

Why is there a starting price rather than an hourly rate?

Because most of the cost happens before we arrive. Booking reserves your date, materials are prepared in our lab in advance, the team is scheduled and the certificate is issued. Consequently a two-hour and a three-hour event cost far more similarly than an hourly rate would suggest.

Is there a minimum guest count?

No, but there is a starting price, and it is the same whether you have four guests or ten. Therefore the cost per guest falls as the group grows. In practice smaller groups get considerably more time each at the bar, which many hosts prefer.

How much are custom labels?

Quoted by quantity and design. For example, they carry a name, date, monogram or full logo, and are printed in advance rather than at your event. Therefore allow about four weeks and decide when you book.

How much is a perfume bar at a wedding?

Wedding stations are quoted per event rather than per head, on guest count, hours of coverage and whether you would like custom labels with your names and date. Because the station is both the entertainment and the favor, most couples find it comes out of two budget lines rather than one. More on wedding perfume bars, or see the favor comparison.

Do children’s parties cost the same?

No — they are priced separately, from $475 as a base for up to eight guests. Because the scent library, the bottle size and the format are all different. See our kids and teens pages for the full breakdown.

How much is a fragrance consultation?

From $450, at our Mokena studio or your home. Meanwhile it is a different service to a perfume bar: one to one, unhurried, and the formula is recorded so it can be made again. More about consultations.

Can I add a second station?

Yes, and it is itemized separately. In practice, for rooms over about forty guests we usually suggest two, because one holds people while the other moves them.

Will the price change after I book?

No. The number on your proposal is the number you pay. However, if you change the guest count or add something, we reissue the quote so you see the new number before you agree to it.

How do I get an exact price?

Send us the date, the venue and roughly how many guests. Then we return an itemized quote showing every line, so you can remove anything you do not want. There is no charge and no obligation.

Quotes come back itemized, with no obligation

We take a limited number of events per date in each market, and Saturdays in spring and December go furthest ahead. Therefore it is worth asking early even if you are still deciding. Nothing is held until you say so.
