Perfume bar allergens and safety come first at every Glitters and Grace event. We want every guest to feel confident and informed before they reach for a single bottle.
This page explains what goes into our perfumes, which common allergens we flag, how patch testing works and how we keep each station clean. If you have a question we haven't answered, please ask.

What's in our perfumes
Every perfume we make is an eau de parfum, a perfume-strength spray made at 50% fragrance material to perfumer's alcohol. Perfumer's alcohol is denatured ethanol, the clear base that carries a fragrance.
Our fragrance materials include absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils. In plain words, those are the concentrated natural extracts perfumers use. Some of our accords and bases also use synthetic fragrance compounds, which are aroma materials made in a lab. Carrier oils such as coconut and jojoba appear at our skincare stations.
We source from trusted suppliers. Every ingredient is clearly labeled at each station, and our team is trained to guide guests through safe selection and blending.
If a guest has a known sensitivity, tell us when you book. We will help them choose gentler options on the day.
Common perfume bar allergens we flag
Our ingredients are chosen for safety and quality, but some can still trigger sensitivities. We flag these and talk guests through them.
Naturally occurring compounds
Linalool, limonene and eugenol occur naturally in many essential oils. They are some of the most common fragrance sensitivities.
Citrus oils
Bergamot, lemon and orange bring sparkle to a blend. They are also on our list to mention to sensitive guests.
Floral absolutes
Jasmine, rose and ylang ylang absolutes are some of the most beautiful materials we use, and some guests react to them.
Synthetic fragrance compounds
These lab-made aroma materials appear in some of our accords and bases. We flag them alongside the naturals.
Safety questions? Ask before you book
We are happy to share ingredient details while you plan. Most Saturdays book six to eight weeks ahead, and longer for May, September, December and weddings. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway. We have a large team of hosts and can often fit you in on short notice.
Patch testing and guest education
We offer optional patch testing at every event. Apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist or elbow and wait 15 to 30 minutes before full application. A host will walk you through it and answer any questions.
Sensitive guests are always welcome to test first, blend slowly and skip any material that gives them pause. There is no rush at our bar.
Clean-up and cross-contamination
Kids, teens and skincare safety
- Ages 5 and up. Our kids and teen parties use age-appropriate formulas, hosted by background-checked female hosts trained to work with children.
- Age-based cards. At the Skincare Bar, age-based cards guide kids and teens toward the right ingredients.
- Retinoids. Retinoids are offered only to guests 21 and older, and not during pregnancy.
- Lip Lab. The Lip Lab is suitable for ages 5 and up. Learn more about our kid-safe spa parties.
Compliance and transparency
- Labeling. Glitters and Grace follows FDA cosmetic labeling guidelines.
- Ingredient lists. Ingredient lists are available on request for any station.
- Documentation. We are happy to provide documentation for corporate, school and wellness events.

Are your perfume materials safe for kids and teens?
Yes. We host parties for children ages 5 and up and for teens, with age-appropriate formulas. Because we use natural materials that some people react to, we post allergy information and offer patch testing.
How do I patch test?

Can I see an ingredient list?
Yes. Ingredient lists are available on request, and we can provide documentation for corporate, school and wellness events.
What if I'm sensitive to citrus or florals?
Tell your host. We flag citrus oils and floral absolutes and will help you choose gentler options.
Do you follow industry safety standards?

How far ahead should we book?
