What is a Mini Perfume Bar?
The Mini Perfume Bar is a scaled-down perfume bar for kids, tweens and teens, where each guest blends their own fragrance from sixty kid-and-teen-friendly scents and bottles it in a 10ml or 15ml spray to take home. It runs about one to two hours, fits on a single table, and works at home or at a venue.
Glitters & Grace brings everything — the scent library, mini bottles, styling and hosts. The Mini Perfume Bar starts at $475 as a base for up to eight guests, and we work across Chicagoland, Milwaukee and the Indianapolis metro with no travel fee.
Most children's party activities are made for children. Ours is a real perfume bar that happens to be sized for them — and the difference shows up in what they take home.
For instance, the scents are chosen for younger noses: soft, sweet, fruity and gentle rather than the resins and woods that anchor an adult blend. Meanwhile the process is the same one we run for grown-ups. Smell, choose, blend, test, bottle.
Consequently, kids do not feel like they are doing a craft. Instead, they feel like they are doing the thing adults do, which is most of why it holds their attention for a full hour.
Better still, the take-home is a real fragrance in a real spray bottle. In other words, it is not a party bag item that gets lost by Wednesday.

Why a smaller bar is the right one for children
A hundred and twenty materials is wonderful for an adult with an afternoon. However, for a nine-year-old it is paralysing.
Therefore, sixty scents is the number we landed on after running these for years. In short, enough that no two children make the same thing, and few enough that everyone finishes. Meanwhile the bottles are 10ml or 15ml — light, easy to hold, and not so large that a child is carrying around more fragrance than they will ever wear.
In addition, the whole setup is compact. Because it fits on one dining table, it works when the party is at home and the table is also where the cake is going.

In addition, signage suggests combinations that work, so no child stands frozen in front of sixty bottles while their friends get going. In addition, our hosts are on hand throughout.

How it runs
How the Mini Perfume Bar works
Four stages, about an hour to ninety minutes. Nothing needs preparing by the family.
We set up
First, we arrive about an hour before the party and style the bar completely on one table. As a result, nobody has to move furniture or clear space in advance.
Smell and choose
Then each child works through the sixty scents and sets aside what they like. Meanwhile, signage suggests combinations, so nobody has to start from nothing.
Blend and test
Next, using droppers and testing strips, they build a blend, smell it on paper, adjust it and try again. In practice, this is the part that holds them longest.
Bottle and go
Finally, they fill and cap their own mini bottle and take it home the same day. Afterward, we pack out and leave the table as we found it.

A mixed-age party. Some celebrations have children and adults in the same room. Tell us the split and we will recommend which single bar covers everyone, or whether two stations is the better answer.

The Mini Perfume Bar starts at $475 as a base for up to eight guests. From there, pricing scales with guest count, staffing and how long we are on site. Meanwhile custom labels and additional stations are itemized separately, so nothing appears as a surprise on the invoice.
There are no travel fees within our markets, no service fees and no automatic gratuity.

Why Glitters & Grace
A trained perfumer, not a party kit
Cheryl Gleason has been building perfume bars and formulating fragrance for over a decade. She is a trained perfumer and a cosmetic and skincare formulator. Furthermore, the kid-friendly scent library was composed by her, in her own lab, rather than bought in.
That matters at a children's party more than it sounds. For example, a parent will ask exactly what is in the bottle, and our hosts can answer without checking a box. Finally, what the children make has to actually smell good — otherwise it goes in a drawer.
We serve Chicago and Chicagoland, Milwaukee and the Illinois–Wisconsin corridor, and the Indianapolis metro. In addition, we travel beyond those markets for larger bookings.

What ages is it for?
Ages 7 and up. Because the scent library, the bottle size and the pace are all built around that age, it lands squarely with them. Younger children can take part alongside an adult. For teenagers who want a larger library, we would talk about the full bar instead.
How is it different from the full perfume bar?
Size of library, bottle size and who it is built for. The Mini has sixty kid-and-teen-friendly scents and 10ml or 15ml bottles, in a compact setup. The full bar has 120+ fragrances, six base styles and larger bottles, and is built for adults and larger events.
How many scents are there?
Sixty, chosen for younger noses. In other words, soft, sweet, fruity and gentle rather than the resins and woods that anchor an adult fragrance. It is enough that no two children make the same thing, and few enough that everyone finishes.
In addition, we bring a trend-led line composed in our own lab and inspired by the styles kids and teens are wearing right now — the sweet gourmands, the bright fruity florals and the warm vanilla musks they already know from the beauty counter. In practice, these are the first bottles they reach for.
Are the ingredients safe?
Every material is skin-safe and IFRA compliant, formulated in our own lab in New Lenox, Illinois. Full ingredient and allergen information is available in advance so you can share it with other parents. Any child can blend and bottle without applying anything to their skin.
Is it messy? It's at our house.
No — it is dry and contained. In practice that means droppers and paper testing strips on a covered surface. We bring our own linens, set up completely, and pack out with the table exactly as we found it.
How much space do you need?
One table. A dining table or kitchen island is plenty, and we bring our own if needed. The Mini fits rooms a larger bar would not. The Mini is our most compact setup.
Can we put the birthday child's name on the bottles?
Yes, as a paid add-on. Custom labels carry a name, a date or a design and are quoted by quantity. However, they are printed in advance rather than at the party, so allow about four weeks. Without them, bottles carry our own Glitters & Grace label.
How far in advance should we book?
Six to eight weeks for most Saturdays, and further out in spring and December, which are our busiest months. If you want custom labels, book earlier — artwork and printing set the real deadline rather than the party date.
Where do you travel?
Chicago and all of Chicagoland, Milwaukee and the Illinois–Wisconsin corridor, and the Indianapolis metro — with no travel fee. We travel beyond those markets for larger bookings, quoted transparently.
