A Sangeet Full of Music, Dancing and Something to Take Home
Our sangeet party ideas start with one belief: the music and the families are the stars of the night. So everything we add should frame the dance floor, never compete with it.
Between performances, guests drift to a perfume bar or Lip Lab, make something personal and drift back for the next song. Then they leave with a bottle that brings the whole evening back.

The Sangeet: Where Two Families Meet on the Dance Floor
The word sangeet means music, and the night lives up to it. In many families, the bride's and groom's sides each prepare dances, sometimes for weeks. Cousins rehearse in basements. Parents and grandparents surprise everyone with a number of their own. Often, friends stage a short skit about how the couple met. As a result, the sangeet is where two families start to feel like one. Among all the wedding week events, it is often the loudest and the happiest.
Styles vary widely. For example, many Punjabi families fill the night with bhangra and boliyan (teasing folk verses sung back and forth). Many Gujarati families hold garba, a circle dance, and dandiya raas, a dance with pairs of decorated sticks, sometimes as a separate garba night. Pakistani and Bangladeshi families may blend the sangeet with the mehndi or a dholki, which is a drum-led singing night. Meanwhile, Bollywood songs tie it all together for many generations at once.
Outfits are bright and festive, from lehengas (long, full skirts worn with a fitted blouse and scarf) to sherwanis and kurtas. Usually, a banquet hall or ballroom holds a stage, a dance floor and a DJ or live musicians booked by the family. Because the floor fills and empties in waves, guests have natural pauses. Those pauses are where our stations fit.
Sangeet Party Ideas Need Good Logistics
A sangeet is loud, joyful and packed. So even the best sangeet party ideas depend on a few practical points we plan with you ahead of time.
Placement near the stage
We set up along a side wall or near the entrance, never on the dance floor. Also, we keep cords and tables clear of performers' paths.
Quiet during performances
When a family dance begins, most guests turn to watch. Our hosts pause and let the room enjoy it, then welcome guests back after.
Guest count and flow
For several hundred guests, the Signature format keeps things moving. For smaller crowds, a blending bar moves about 50 guests an hour.
Attars and dietary guidelines
Request attars at booking if your family avoids alcohol. Likewise, share any candy guidelines early, so we can talk through options.
Sangeet Party Ideas for the Side of the Room
Two stations usually suit a sangeet. Bigger guest lists often lean toward faster formats, so the lines stay short between dances.

Custom Perfume Bar
For a large sangeet, our Signature format lets guests choose from up to 12 house scents and moves 85 to 100 guests an hour. Smaller crowds can enjoy a blending bar with 60+ or 120+ materials instead. Jasmine and sandalwood are on the bar, too.

Attars on Request
Our usual bar makes an eau de parfum spray, which contains perfumer's alcohol. For families who avoid alcohol, attars (an alcohol-free perfume oil, rich and long lasting) are available on request.

Luxury Lip Lab
Guests mix a gloss or lip color that holds up through the dancing. Also, a Lip Lab with 2 to 3 hosts serves about 100 guests in roughly 3 hours.

These sangeet party ideas take a cue from the songs and colors of the night. Still, every family's sangeet looks a little different.
Name a scent for each side
Signage can suggest a bride's side blend and a groom's side blend. Then guests pick a team, which adds playful rivalry before the dance-off.
A garba night color story
For a Gujarati sangeet or garba night, dress the tables in bright mirrorwork colors. Next, pair them with warm, sweet scents that suit a long night of dancing.
Lip color for the performers
Open the Lip Lab early so the dancers can mix a shade before they go on stage. After that, guests follow their lead.
Two studios
Rehearsals, Small Gatherings and Our Studios
A full sangeet needs a ballroom, and we bring the stations there. However, our Mokena studio, opening in January 2027, suits smaller moments. Its party room holds up to 40 guests, and its kitchen lets families bring their own food.
For example, the bridal party could meet there for a perfume session after a dance rehearsal. Then, in late 2028, a second studio is planned for Chicago. Read more on our Mokena studio page.

Pricing for a Sangeet Night
Adult perfume bars start at $500, and every sangeet is quoted as one event rather than per guest. The format, guest count and added stations shape the final number. You will hear back from us within 2 business days.

How Booking Works

Our women-led team arrives one hour before guests. We bring linens, and tables are yours or ours at $30 each.
Dance, then depart
Guests visit between performances. Finally, we pack up quietly while the party keeps going.
Your Questions About Sangeet Party Ideas
Do you bring a DJ or dancers?
No. Your family books music and performers. We add the perfume bar, Lip Lab and other stations beside them.
Can you handle 300 guests?
Yes, with the Signature format over a few hours of the evening. It moves 85 to 100 guests an hour.
Will the perfume bar distract from performances?
We set up at the edge of the room. Plus, our hosts pause when the family dances begin.
Do you offer alcohol-free perfume?
Our spray perfume uses perfumer's alcohol. Attars, an alcohol-free option, are available on request when you book.
Can guests blend their own scent?
At a blending bar, yes. They start from one of six bases, from fresh to gourmand, which means sweet.
Can we do a garba night too?
Yes. If your family adds a garba night, the same stations work well there.
Are your hosts men or women?
Our event hosts are women. That helps families who prefer women on staff.
What about a mehndi the next night?
You can book us for both. Our mehndi ideas page shows how we work beside a henna artist.
