Wedding Favors in the Old Tradition of Fragrance
Indian wedding favors carry a lot of meaning, because a South Asian wedding is a long act of hospitality. In fact, families feed, welcome and thank hundreds of guests across several days.
So Indian wedding favors should feel generous and personal, too. A bottle of perfume, made by the guest, labeled with your names, does exactly that. Plus, for families who prefer it, attars are available on request.

Why Fragrance Makes Sense Among Indian Wedding Favors
Many South Asian families already give return gifts (thank you gifts handed to guests as they leave). Often these are boxes of mithai, the traditional sweets, or dried fruits, small silver pieces or decorated pouches. Of course, those favors are lovely. Still, a couple may want one gift that guests will keep using long after the wedding.
After all, fragrance has deep roots here. For centuries, attar makers in places like Kannauj, a city in northern India known for perfume, have distilled rose, jasmine and vetiver into sandalwood oil. In many homes, an ittardan (a small decorative attar holder) once came out for honored guests. At some weddings, family members still sprinkle rosewater from a gulabpash, a tall silver sprinkler, as guests arrive. In other words, scenting your guests is a way of saying welcome.
Moreover, that tradition crosses faiths and borders. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Jain and Christian families across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh all have their own scent memories. For example, one family remembers jasmine gajra at every wedding, while another remembers rose attar on the wrist before prayers. So we ask what fragrance means to your family, then build the favor around it.
Favor Stations Your Guests Will Remember
Each station doubles as entertainment and a gift. That way, the favor table becomes part of the party instead of a pile by the door.

Custom Perfume Bar
Guests blend or choose an eau de parfum made from absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils, all hand blended in our New Lenox lab. Our perfume favors page shows the bottles up close. Our materials include jasmine, sandalwood and oud, so favors can lean classic.

Attars on Request
Families who avoid alcohol in perfume can request attars. Each attar is a concentrated perfume oil, applied with a light touch to the wrist. Because they echo the old ittardan, attar favors feel especially meaningful at a walima or reception.

Classes and Consultations
Before the wedding, a private fragrance consultation with our perfumer helps the couple shape a signature scent. Then that scent can anchor custom perfume favors for every guest.

These Indian wedding favors lean on symbols many families already treasure. Of course, we shape each one around your own customs.
Labels with your names and date
Order custom labels at booking, printed in advance with your names or wedding date. Then each bottle becomes a keepsake rather than a generic gift.
Signage inspired by classic attars
We can theme the signage around florals and woods, much like classic attars. That way, guests blend a modern spray with a familiar heart.
Favors beside the mithai
Set the perfume bar near the sweets table at the reception. As a result, guests collect both kinds of sweetness on their way out.
Indian Wedding Favors: Details We Settle Early
Of course, favors for hundreds of guests take planning. So we work through these points with you early.
Guest count and format
For a reception of several hundred, the Signature format moves 85 to 100 guests an hour. For a smaller walima or sangeet, a blending bar feels more personal.
Alcohol and attars
However, every spray is made with perfumer's alcohol. If your family or many guests avoid alcohol, request attars at booking.
Custom label timing
Also, labels are a paid add-on and print before the event. Therefore, we finalize names, dates and spelling at booking, since we cannot print on site.
Which event to choose
The reception is a natural choice for favors. Still, the mehndi or sangeet gives guests more time to linger.
How Pricing Works for Indian Wedding Favors
Adult perfume bars start at $500, quoted for the whole event rather than per guest. Custom labels, attars and extra stations are added to your quote, which arrives within 2 business days.

Two studios
Choosing Your Favor Scent at Our Studio
Couples who want to test notes before the wedding can visit our Mokena studio once it opens in January 2027. Walk-ins and appointments to make perfume will be available, and the party room holds up to 40 guests, with a kitchen for your own food.
That makes it a lovely spot for a small family gathering before the wedding. Meanwhile, a second studio is planned for Chicago, opening in late 2028. Learn more on the studio page.

Questions About Perfume Favors
Can guests choose an alcohol-free favor?
Yes, if you request attars when booking. The standard bar makes an alcohol-based eau de parfum spray.
Do you print labels at the wedding?
No. Custom labels are printed in advance, so they must be ordered at booking.
Will 400 guests get through the line?
With the Signature format, we move 85 to 100 guests an hour. So plan the bar for a stretch of the evening, not one rush.
What materials go into the perfume?
We use absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils, blended by hand in our New Lenox lab.
Can the favors match our wedding colors?
Usually, yes. You are welcome to dress our tables with your own fabric, flowers or trays.
Can we gift the favors at the walima?
Yes. The walima or reception is a natural choice for favors, and attars on request suit families who avoid alcohol.
Do you also bring sweets?
We offer a luxury candy bar. However, mithai and catering come from your own vendors.
Do you travel to Milwaukee and Indianapolis?
Yes. We have teams in both cities, plus all of Chicagoland.
