Make Your Own Lipstick, the Liquid Kind
When you make your own lipstick with us, you create a lip cream in a shade nobody else owns. Here's the honest detail up front: it isn't a bullet-shaped stick. Lip cream is a liquid lipstick that dries to a soft, velvety matte.
Guests mix it at the Lip Lab, our hosted lip color bar, at parties across three markets. Prefer shine? A high-shine gloss is on the menu, too. Also, once our Mokena studio opens in January 2027, you can stop in and mix a shade on your own schedule.

- Velvety matte finish
- 16-shade swatch board
- Party or studio visit
- Hosts guide every mix
Why make your own lipstick instead of shopping for one
Finding the right lipstick in a store can take years. Shades look different under bright store lights. Then, just as often, a favorite quietly disappears from the shelf.
Here, the process is personal. First, you study the swatch board and pick a starting point. Then a host helps you warm it, cool it, deepen it, or soften it. Finally, you check it in the mirror before it's finished.
The matte finish is a big part of the appeal, too. Lip cream goes on smooth and settles into a soft, velvety look. So it reads polished in photos, at the office, or at a wedding.
Bring the lipstick you wear most. Then your host can help you mix a version that lands a little closer to perfect.

What's on the Lip Lab menu
Lip cream is the star here. Still, a few companions round out the experience.

Lip Cream
This is our liquid lipstick. It dries to a soft, velvety matte, while each guest tunes the shade herself.

Gloss Finish
Some guests want shine instead of matte. For them, a high-shine gloss gives that glassy look.

Swatch Board
First, sixteen shades sit on the board as starting points. From there, guests nudge the color toward their own ideal.

Lip Lab Tiers
The bar comes in Basic, Kids, and Premium tiers. Your proposal explains which tier fits your guests.

Perfume Bar
Add scent to the evening. Guests blend from a base and finish with an eau de parfum spray, a concentrated perfume.

Photo Booth
The digital photo booth catches the first wear of each new shade. It's a fun way to close the night.
Reserve a lipstick party date
Book 3 to 6 months out, since weekends fill first. Then a 50% deposit holds your date.
Lipstick party ideas worth borrowing
When you make your own lipstick, a little storytelling follows. So these three ideas lean into it.
Lip cream and gloss come from the same bar. So one group can split between matte and shine at a single table.
Moments that call for a custom shade
A custom lipstick shade turns an ordinary gathering into a memory. Here's where it fits best.
Engagement parties
Guests toast the couple, then mix a celebratory shade. Also, the bride walks away with a color for her photos.
Birthday dinners
A restaurant private room becomes a lipstick bar between courses.
Sorority and alumni reunions
Old friends catch up while they mix. Afterward, everyone leaves with the same night on their lips.
Book clubs
Swap the usual discussion night for something hands-on. Then talk books while the shades come together.
Visits from out of town
A sister in from Milwaukee or a friend from Indianapolis makes a perfect excuse. Plus, we serve both cities with local teams.
Kids and teens
Younger guests get their own versions. See our teen lip color parties and lip gloss parties for kids.
Where to set up a lipstick bar
The Lip Lab fits in about 12 x 6 feet with two 6-foot tables. We bring the linens and set everything up.
Living rooms
Move the coffee table aside, and then the room becomes a lip studio.
Condo party rooms
Many downtown buildings have a lounge, so check the booking rules early.
Banquet halls
Large showers and celebrations work well, because we add hosts for bigger crowds.
Churches
Fellowship halls also suit women's ministry nights and mother-daughter events.
The Mokena studio
Starting in January 2027, our studio hosts private parties for up to 40 guests.
