A Private Perfume Making Class, Just for Your Circle
A private perfume making class brings the whole lesson to your table, so only your invited guests are in the room. There are no strangers and no shared public seats. Instead, it is your group, your pace, and your evening.
We offer three private formats. First, the Perfume Making 101 Workshop needs a minimum of 3 guests. Next, the Fragrance Workshop adds our perfume bar. Finally, a fragrance consultation is one-to-one with the perfumer.

- Your guests only
- Quoted for your group
- Home or venue
- Perfumer-designed
Why choose a private perfume making class
A private room changes how people learn. Guests ask questions freely, because they are among friends. They also laugh more, smell more, and try bolder ideas. So the class feels like a gathering, not a lecture.
You also choose the setting. For example, it can be your kitchen island, a clubhouse, or an event space. We bring the materials and set them up, too. Then guests simply sit down and begin.
Above all, everyone leaves with a finished perfume. Each guest blends her own formula, bottles it, and names it. In short, a private perfume making class turns an ordinary night into a keepsake.
Send invitations that say what guests will make. People arrive curious, and the class starts with energy.

What happens in a private perfume making class
The 101 workshop moves in three steps. Then the Fragrance Workshop and the one-to-one session build on the same ideas.

Learn the Foundations
First, guests learn notes, which are the single scents inside a perfume. Top notes greet you first, middle notes form the heart, and base notes linger. Then we cover fragrance families, meaning groups of scents with a shared character.

Explore the Palette
Next, guests smell a curated palette chosen for workshops. The instructor helps each person compare materials. As a result, guests learn what they love and why.

Blend, Bottle, Label
Finally, each guest blends her formula, bottles it, and names it. She leaves with a finished fragrance in hand. The blending itself usually takes about 40 minutes.

Fine Materials
We work with absolutes, CO2 extracts, and essential oils. An absolute is a highly concentrated aroma drawn from a flower. So even a first blend smells rich.

Add the Perfume Bar
The Fragrance Workshop pairs the class with our perfume bar. Guests write a scent story, then make two perfumes. One is structured, while the second is more playful.

One Guest, One Perfumer
Would you rather learn alone? Then a one-to-one perfume session starts at $650. It takes place at the Mokena studio or in your home, and your formula is kept.
Pick a date for your private group
The 101 workshop needs at least 3 attendees, and every class is quoted for your group. Tell us your guest count, and we will suggest the right fit.
Ways to shape your private class
A private group can steer the evening. So here are three easy ways to make it feel personal.
Our finished perfume is an eau de parfum spray, meaning a concentrated perfume. Ours is about 50% fragrance material.
Occasions for a private perfume making class
Small private groups suit many moments. Our teams also host the Fragrance Workshop in Milwaukee and Indianapolis.
Friends reunited
College roommates or old coworkers finally share a calendar date. A class gives the reunion a focus.
Holiday hosting
Instead of another cookie swap, guests make a winter perfume. Then the bottles become gifts.
A thank-you evening
Thank a volunteer committee or a group of helpers. Plus, each person carries home a reminder of the night.
Wellness weekends
A calm hour of smelling and blending fits a slow weekend away. It also pairs well with a long brunch.
Family gatherings
The 101 workshop suits adults, teens, families, and kids ages 5 and up. So three generations can blend together.
Just because
Sometimes a free Saturday is reason enough. So gather a few friends for a small group perfume class and learn something lovely.
Where your private perfume making class can happen
We bring the 101 workshop to your home, venue, or event space anywhere in Chicagoland. Our setup needs about 12 x 6 feet and two 6-foot tables.
Your dining room
A perfume class at home feels relaxed from the start. Plus, a long table makes it easy to pass bottles and compare.
Condo party rooms
Many buildings have a room you can reserve. It keeps your own home tidy, too.
Clubhouses
A clubhouse gives a neighborhood group plenty of space. Usually, parking is simple as well.
Event spaces
Rent a room that matches your style. Then we work around the furniture that is already there.
Our Mokena studio
The Mokena studio opens in January 2027. Its private party room seats up to 40, is BYOB for adults, and has a kitchen.
How booking a private class works
- Tell us about your group. First, share your guest count, your date, and your setting.
- Choose a format. Next, pick the 101 workshop, the Fragrance Workshop, or a one-to-one session.
- Confirm the details. Then we send ingredient and allergen disclosures before your class.
- We set up early. On the day, our team arrives 1 hour ahead with linens and materials.
- Learn and blend. Finally, guests make their perfume, and we pack everything out afterward.
Weekends fill first, so book 3 to 6 months ahead when you can. Custom bottle labels need about 4 weeks.
