A Perfume Making Class for Every Kind of Gathering

A perfume making class with Glitters & Grace comes in three graceful formats. Each one is also taught by people who love perfume. Each one also ends with a bottle you made yourself.

So this page compares them side by side. First comes the Perfume Making 101 Workshop, quoted for your group. Next is The Fragrance Workshop, where groups create two perfumes. Finally, a one-to-one fragrance consultation starts at $650.

Why take a perfume making class instead of shopping for one

Department store perfume is lovely, yet it was made for everyone. In contrast, a class teaches you why you love what you love. Then you put that knowledge straight into a bottle.

Every format shares the same fine materials. For example, we blend with absolutes, CO2 extracts, and essential oils. An absolute, simply put, is a highly concentrated aroma drawn from a flower. So even a first blend smells rich and true.

Our founder, Cheryl Gleason, is a trained perfumer. Her approach also shapes how every class is taught. As a result, guests learn real structure, not just mixing for fun.

How to choose

Planning for a few friends? Start with the 101. Hosting a bigger celebration? Look at The Fragrance Workshop. Want a recipe kept on file? Book one-to-one.

Ideas for planning your class

A little planning makes the evening glow. Here are three simple ways to shape it.

Match the format to the guest listUsually, three or more friends fit the 101 nicely. Meanwhile, twenty or more guests suit a Fragrance Workshop tier.
Pick a mood in advanceBefore the class, ask guests to think of a place they love. Then each blend can try to capture it.
Save time for sharingAfter bottling, let everyone pass her perfume around. It is often the most charming part of the night.
Did you know?

The 101 Workshop welcomes adults, teens, families, and kids ages 5 and up. So it can be a multigenerational outing.

Occasions for a perfume making class

A class gives any gathering a focus, even a casual one. Plus, everyone carries home a keepsake that smells like the day.

Girls' nights

A small group of friends fits the 101 perfectly. Afterward, everyone trades sniffs and compliments.

Milestone birthdays

A fortieth deserves something memorable. The Elevated tier pairs the lesson with a full perfume bar.

Bridal showers

Guests learn while the bride opens gifts. Then every bottle becomes a favor.

Family days

Grandmothers, moms, and daughters can learn side by side. Since kids 5 and up are welcome, nobody sits out.

Team events

Coworkers often bond over shared choices. The Branded tier even travels nationwide.

Weddings

Guests then make a scent that recalls the celebration. See our wedding perfume bars for styling.

How booking a perfume making class works

  • Tell us your plans.First, share your date, your guest count, and the mood you want.
  • Choose a format.Next, we suggest the 101, a Fragrance Workshop tier, or a private session.
  • Confirm the details. Then we send the details and hold your date.
  • Learn and blend. On the day, guests study notes and then build their perfume.
  • Bottle it.Finally, everyone names and labels a finished bottle to take home.
Good to know
