What it means to be a luxury party company
Luxury is not a price. It is a standard of execution — the materials, the training, the discretion, and the hundred small decisions a host never has to make.
The phrase luxury party company gets used loosely. Plenty of vendors put it on a website, raise their prices, and hope nobody looks closely. However, the hosts we work with always look closely. Moreover, they have been to enough events to know the difference within ninety seconds of walking into a room.
So what actually separates a luxury party company from a rental vendor with nice linens? In our experience, it comes down to four things: what you make the product from, who stands behind the table, how much of the thinking you take off the host's plate, and what happens when something goes sideways.
So this is our answer to all four. It is also, honestly, a description of the standard we hold ourselves to at Glitters & Grace — and what our clients have come to expect after a decade of celebrations.

The definition
What a luxury party company actually does
A rental company delivers equipment. Consequently, the host inherits everything else — the staffing, the styling, the timing, and the risk.
A luxury party company delivers an outcome. First, we arrive with the bar, the displays, the linens, the signage, the lighting, the product and the team. Then we host every guest, and we pack out cleanly while the party is still going.
In other words, you are not renting a table. You are handing a chapter of your event to someone who will run it better than you could, and who will not need you while they do it.
A rental vendor gives you
- Product dropped off, set-up billed separately
- Pre-blended fragrance oils made for candles and soap
- Generic signage, or none at all
- A staffing question you have to solve yourself
- An insurance certificate you have to chase
A luxury party company gives you
- A fully styled station, staffed and hosted end to end
- Absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils, blended in our own lab
- Custom signage and labels in your palette, with your names
- Trained hosts scaled to your guest count and run of show
- Certificates, load-in windows and venue coordination handled
"Discerning clients don't ask for more. They ask for fewer things to worry about."Cheryl Gleason, Owner & Perfumer
What we've learned
Understanding what discerning hosts actually want
After a decade of weddings, milestone celebrations and private events, certain patterns are unmistakable. Affluent clients are not difficult. Rather, they are precise — and they have usually been let down before.
Their time is the real budget
They will happily spend money to stop spending attention. Therefore, the vendor who sends one clear proposal beats the vendor who sends four emails asking questions the client already answered.
They want judgment, not a menu
Endless options are a burden, not a courtesy. So we lead with a recommendation — this station, this many hosts, this window — and then we adjust. Choice is offered where it matters and removed where it doesn't.
They notice the invisible things
The weight of the bottle. Whether the label is straight. Whether our team is dressed to match the room. Whether we look busy in front of guests. Although these details are never mentioned in a review, they are always registered.
Surprises on an invoice are unforgivable
Not because of the money. Because it signals that you weren't paying attention. For that reason we itemize travel, overages and custom work up front, and we quote before we act.
Discretion is part of the service
We don't post a client's home, name their venue, or tag their family without permission. Meanwhile, we're happy to hand your photographer a beautifully styled station and let them decide what the world sees.
They are buying certainty
At this level, the question is rarely "will it be nice?" Instead, it is "will it be handled?" That is what we sell, and everything below is how we deliver it.
Working with a planner?
Send them our way. We'll handle the venue coordination, certificates and load-in directly so it never lands on your desk.
Customization
Bespoke means built for you, not chosen from a list
Most vendors offer customization as a color choice. However, ours goes considerably further, because the product itself is formulated in house.
A signature scent of your own. For weddings and milestone celebrations, we compose a fragrance around the two of you — where you met, the florals you chose, the trip you keep talking about. Afterward, guests build their own blends on top of it.
Your palette, throughout. Linens, vessels, risers, florals, bottles, ribbon and signage are styled to your colors. In addition, labels carry your names, your date or your monogram.
Custom color matching. For instance, in the Lip Lab, shades are mixed live. They can then be matched to a brand color or a bridesmaid palette.
Scaled to the room. Five guests in a living room or five thousand at an activation — the station is designed for the space, not squeezed into it.
The wow factor
The moment guests realize it's real
The first reaction is always the same. How unique. Then, a beat later: what a wonderful idea.
But the second reaction is the one that matters. It arrives when a guest asks what's actually in the bottle. Then our host answers properly — this is a rose absolute, this accord was composed in our lab, sandalwood is expensive for these reasons.
That is the difference between an activity and an experience. Most scent bars pour pre-blended fragrance oils sold for candles and soap. We don't, however. We formulate from absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils, and every accord on the bar is ours.
Guests can smell it. As a result, they stay longer, they ask better questions, and they talk about it for years.
Service
The luxury party company standard, in practice
Great customer service is not warmth alone. Above all, it is reliability — expressed as a series of unremarkable things that simply always happen.
A proposal within two business days
Itemized, with staffing and timing spelled out. Not a price range and a promise to follow up.
One point of contact
In short, you speak with the person who designs your experience, rather than a rotating inbox.
We arrive early and set quietly
Because load-in windows are confirmed in advance, the station is finished before the first guest sees the room.
Staffing scaled to the room
First, we size the team to your guest count and your window, so the line keeps moving. For larger events, we add hosts or a second station.
Certificates and venue requirements handled
Insurance naming your venue, dock scheduling, freight elevators and union labor coordination where they apply.
Allergen and ingredient transparency
Full disclosures for every product line, and hosts trained to guide sensitive guests gracefully rather than awkwardly.
Formulations kept on file
For example, guests can reorder what they made months later. Similarly, couples can reorder their signature scent for years.
We leave the space as we found it
Finally, a clean pack-out every time, and without anyone having to ask.
The experiences
Five signature experiences, mixed to fit the room
Book one, or combine several. For larger events, multiple stations spread guests across the room and keep every line short.
The Perfume Bar
Guests compose an original fragrance from 120+ notes, accords and blends over six bases, guided by a trained perfumer.
The Luxury Lip Lab
Custom lip creams and glosses mixed live from real cosmetic pigments, then poured and packaged at the station.
The Bath & Body Bar
A styled apothecary of salts, oils, botanicals and hand-made bath bombs. Calm, sensory, and quick to move guests through.
The Skincare Bar
A guided consultation and a personalized take-home set. The most consultative station we run, and the one that feels most like a gift.
The Luxury Candy Bar
Glass apothecary vessels, risers and a palette matched to your colors, with custom take-home boxes. Our highest-throughput station.
Add-ons
A digital photo booth, a glitter body spray station, mini facials with licensed estheticians, and bespoke corporate gifting.
Why Glitters & Grace
Why hosts choose this luxury party company
Cheryl Gleason has been formulating fragrance and building perfume bars for over a decade. She is a trained perfumer as well as a cosmetic and skincare formulator. Furthermore, every accord and formula we use was composed in her own lab.
That matters, because it removes the gap between what a brand claims and what it can explain. Our hosts can answer any question a guest asks, since the person who trained them also made the product.
We serve Chicago and Chicagoland, Milwaukee and the Illinois–Wisconsin corridor, and the Indianapolis metro. For smaller gatherings, our Mokena studio hosts private groups of up to 40, so the venue and the experience arrive together.
Before you ask
Choosing a luxury party company: common questions
What should a luxury party company cost?
Ours starts at around $500 and scales with guest count, station count, staffing, service length and customization. Travel beyond our core radius and any venue-specific fees are itemized separately, so nothing appears as a surprise on the invoice.
How do I tell a genuine luxury service from a marked-up rental?
In practice, ask three questions. What are the materials, specifically? Who staffs the station, and how many? And what happens at load-in? A real answer to all three tells you almost everything.
How far in advance should we book?
Weddings six to twelve months out, corporate three to six, and showers or private parties six to eight weeks. Meanwhile, peak Saturdays go first. If your date is sooner, ask anyway — we sometimes have a team available.
Can you work with our planner or venue directly?
Yes, and we prefer it. We coordinate certificates of insurance, load-in windows, dock access and union labor requirements directly with the venue so it never lands on the host.
How private is the service?
Entirely so, and at your discretion. We don't share client names, venues or images without permission, and we're glad to sign whatever your team requires.
Which markets do you serve?
Chicago and Chicagoland, Milwaukee and the Illinois–Wisconsin corridor, and the Indianapolis metro. We also travel for destination events, quoted transparently as a flat fee.
Peak dates book first
We take a limited number of events per date in each market, because a fully staffed, fully styled station cannot be in two rooms at once. Saturdays in wedding season and December dates go earliest, often a year ahead.
