PTO Family Night Ideas Parents Will Line Up For

If your committee is trading PTO family night ideas and wants one that feels special, consider a hosted beauty station. Glitters & Grace sets up a perfume, lip gloss, or bath bomb table, staffs it, and keeps kids moving through all evening.

Every child walks away with something they made. Your volunteers get to enjoy the night instead of running a craft table.

What Makes a Family Night Activity for Schools Work

A good station at a busy school event has three jobs. It has to look inviting from across the gym, move kids through at a steady pace, and send them off happy.

Our stations are built for that, which is why they work so well among PTO family night ideas. Signage, mirrors, and linens draw families in, and trained hosts keep each group on track from start to finish.

How a Hosted Station Moves a Crowd

This is the question PTO planners ask most, so here is how it works in plain terms.

Small groups, steady rotation. Hosts seat a small group, guide them through one clear activity, and then welcome the next group. Nobody stands around waiting for a lesson to start.

Choices made easy. At the Perfume station, signage suggests blends for kids who would rather not decide from scratch. That keeps quick deciders and careful thinkers moving at a similar pace.

Hosts at every table. Our team runs each station for the whole event. Volunteers do not need training, and kids always have an adult showing them the next step.

Room to scale. For bigger crowds, extra hosts can be added. More hands at the table means shorter lines.

Ready before doors open. We arrive one hour early to set up, and we clean up when the night ends.

The result is a station that keeps flowing from the first family through the door to the last. Parents can browse other tables, grab a snack, or chat with teachers while their kids create.

Made by a trained perfumer

Every station was designed by our founder, Cheryl Gleason, a trained perfumer and cosmetic and skincare formulator who trained with master perfumer Karen Gilbert, at the Institute for Art and Olfaction, and through courses and workshops around the world. We ask about allergies when you book, and your contract covers allergen disclosures.

School Family Night Ideas: Stations That Fit

Pick one station for a focused activity, or several for a bigger event. These PTO family night ideas all work in a gym, cafeteria, or library.

Perfume

Kids blend their own scent from kid-friendly options. Each bottle is an eau de parfum (a strong, long-lasting perfume strength) made with perfumer's alcohol.

Lip Lab

Kids mix their own lip gloss, with a Kids tier for younger students.

Bath

Kids make bath bombs to take home.

Candy

A candy cart for a festive touch.

Photo Booth

A digital booth families love.

Kids experiences are for ages 5 and up, which covers most elementary grades. See the full lineup on our kids beauty party page.

Using It as One of Your School Fundraiser Ideas

Many committees look for school fundraiser ideas that feel like an experience rather than another sale. A hosted station can anchor a ticketed family night or sit alongside other activities.

How your school structures tickets or proceeds is up to your committee. We are happy to talk through options when you call.

School Carnival Booth Ideas and Spring Fairs

Spring fairs and fall festivals need booths that kids remember. Among school carnival booth ideas, a make-and-take station stands out because kids leave holding their creation.

Families provide tables, or we bring them for a small fee. We bring linens and can add customized decor or personalized signage in your school colors.

Camps, Clubs, and After-School Events

The same setup works well beyond the PTO. If you are collecting summer camp activity ideas, a perfume or bath bomb station makes a fun special-event day.

It also fits after-school party ideas for clubs wrapping up a season. You can host at your site, or bring a smaller group to our Mokena studio, which has a party room and a kitchen.

Our founder, Cheryl Gleason, is a trained perfumer and formulator who designed each station.
