A West Loop perfume bar that clears the freight elevator
We bring a fully staffed perfume bar to West Loop lofts, Fulton Market venues and private events. Every guest blends a custom fragrance and bottles it to take home — and we book the dock before we book the date.
What is a West Loop perfume bar?
A West Loop perfume bar is a hosted fragrance station brought to your home or venue, where each guest blends a custom eau de parfum from a scent library and bottles it to take home. It runs one to two hours as an open station, so guests take part when they want rather than sitting down together.
Glitters & Grace brings everything — the scent library, equipment, styling and hosts. A West Loop perfume bar starts at around $500, with no travel fee anywhere in the city or Chicagoland. Every fragrance is formulated by trained perfumers in our own Illinois lab.
The West Loop has more good event space per block than anywhere else in the city, and almost all of it was built for something other than events. Consequently the building, not the party, sets the constraints.
Freight elevators with booking windows. Loading docks shared with a restaurant. Buildings where the only way in is a service corridor that closes at six. Meanwhile the venue itself is usually delighted to have you.
That is the part we handle. We confirm the freight window, the dock, and the certificate of insurance before anything else is agreed. Therefore your planner is not chasing a vendor on the morning of the event.
The activity is simple: one table, ninety minutes, and every guest leaves with a fragrance they blended.
Fulton Market dates need dock coordination.
Freight windows book separately from venues, and often earlier. Therefore send us the date and address together and we will start on the logistics immediately.

Why a West Loop perfume bar suits a food-first neighbourhood
Almost every West Loop venue makes its money on food and beverage. Consequently a vendor who brings catering runs into a minimum, a licence question, or both.
We serve nothing. No food, no drink, no licence. Therefore a perfume bar never counts against an F&B minimum, which removes the objection a venue raises first.
Meanwhile the footprint is small — about 12 x 6 feet and a standard outlet, and several stations need no power at all. In a converted warehouse with a difficult floor plan, that flexibility matters more than it sounds.
In addition, the activity photographs unusually well against exposed brick and steel, which is most of why it took hold in this neighbourhood.

Where we set up
Where a West Loop perfume bar sets up
One table is all we need. Meanwhile, we work to whatever your venue requires.
At home
West Loop lofts · Fulton Market · Greektown · River West
Loft kitchens and islands work well, and we bring our own table if the space is short on surfaces. Because many West Loop buildings have a booked freight elevator and a shared dock, tell us the building when you enquire rather than on the day.
We arrive about an hour early, style the bar completely, and pack out with the space as we found it.
- About 12 x 6 feet, two 6-foot tables and a standard outlet
- Freight and dock windows confirmed in advance
- Setup and full cleanup always included
At a venue
Fulton Market venues · Converted warehouses · Private dining rooms
Fulton Market and the surrounding blocks hold an unusual density of converted industrial space, private dining rooms and rooftop venues.
We issue certificates of insurance naming your venue at no charge and coordinate load-in windows directly with their team. Therefore approval and access are handled before you have to think about them.
- Certificates of insurance provided free
- Freight elevator and dock scheduling handled by us
- No food service, so no F&B minimum applies
Booked a venue already?
Send us the address and any vendor requirements. Then we will confirm the load-in and send an itemized quote.
How it runs
How a West Loop perfume bar works
Four stages, about ninety minutes end to end. Nothing needs preparing in advance.
We set up
First, we arrive about an hour before you want to start and style the bar completely. Nobody has to be ready when we get there.
Choose a base
Then each guest picks a base style to build on. Signage suggests combinations, so nobody stares at a blank page.
Blend and test
Next, layer from the scent library, testing on paper and adjusting. Two to four minutes each, and guests can return.
Bottle it
Finally, fill and cap your own bottle and take it home the same day. Afterward we pack out completely.
Every perfume made is an eau de parfum at 50–60% fragrance material to perfumer's alcohol. In other words, it is a genuine concentration rather than a scented water, which is why it is still with you at the end of the evening.
Match it to your room
West Loop perfume bar sizing, by guest count
Headcount changes the right answer more than budget does. So here is how we would scope it.
One station, one host. A loft or private dining room at this size gives everyone real time at the bar.
One station, two hosts. The most common West Loop booking. Meanwhile the line keeps moving through a cocktail hour.
Two stations. Because one holds guests while the other moves them, a warehouse floor plan never bottlenecks at one table.
Multi-station, expanded team. Placed deliberately across the floor with staffing scaled to your run of show.
What should you budget?
West Loop perfume bar bookings start at around $500. From there, pricing scales with guest count, station count, staffing and time on site. Meanwhile custom labels and additional branding are itemized separately, so nothing appears as a surprise on the invoice.
There is no travel fee anywhere in the city or Chicagoland. In addition, there are no service fees and no automatic gratuity.
Areas we serve
West Loop perfume bar service area
The West Loop and the neighbourhoods around it, on the same terms throughout.
Fulton Market
Converted warehouses, rooftops and private dining. In practice our busiest West Loop pocket, and the one with the tightest freight windows.
West Loop Gate & Greektown
Hotels and event space along Halsted. Therefore load-in is usually street-level and straightforward.
River West
Lofts and gallery space. Because buildings here vary widely, we confirm access building by building.
Near West Side
Private homes and smaller venues. Meanwhile the drive from our Mokena studio is direct down the Stevenson.
The Loop & River North
Covered on identical terms. Consequently a West Loop host is not limited to one neighbourhood.
Pilsen & University Village
South and west of the expressway, all inside the no-travel-fee area.
Why Glitters & Grace
A trained perfumer, not a rented table
Cheryl Gleason has been building perfume bars and formulating fragrance for over a decade. She is a trained perfumer and a cosmetic and skincare formulator. Furthermore, every accord and formula we bring to the West Loop was composed in her own lab in New Lenox, Illinois.
That matters for practical reasons. For example, a guest will ask what is in the bottle, and our hosts can answer. Someone will mention a sensitivity, and we have full disclosures ready. Finally, the host will ask what happens if everyone arrives at once — and we have already staffed for it.
We work with absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils rather than the pre-blended fragrance oils sold for candles and soap. As a result, what your guests make actually wears like a fragrance.
Before you ask
West Loop perfume bar: common questions
How much is a West Loop perfume bar?
From around $500. Pricing scales with guest count, station count, staffing and time on site. Materials, take-home bottles, hosts, styling, setup and cleanup are included, with no travel fee anywhere in the city.
Can you handle a freight elevator and dock booking?
Yes, and we prefer to. We confirm the freight window, dock access and certificate of insurance with the building before the date is finalised. Therefore your planner is not chasing us on the morning.
Will this count against our food and beverage minimum?
No — we serve no food or drink at all. Consequently a perfume bar sits outside the F&B minimum entirely, which is usually a venue’s first question in this neighbourhood.
How much space do you need in a loft?
About 12 x 6 feet and a standard outlet. Several stations run without power. Furthermore, we bring our own tables, which matters in a raw space.
Do you provide a certificate of insurance?
Yes, naming your venue or building, at no charge and on their timeline. Most West Loop buildings ask for one, so we issue it as standard.
Which neighbourhoods do you cover?
The West Loop, Fulton Market, Greektown, River West, the Near West Side, the Loop, River North, Pilsen and University Village, all with no travel fee.
How far in advance should we book?
Six to eight weeks minimum, and considerably further for Fulton Market. In practice the freight window can be harder to get than the venue itself.
Can you brand it for a corporate event?
Yes. Custom labels carry a logo, name or date, and station signage can be styled to your brand. Labels are printed in advance, so allow about four weeks.
Is it messy in a rented loft?
No — it is the tidiest thing we do. Dry, contained, on a covered surface, and we pack out with the space exactly as we found it.
What is actually in the perfume?
Absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils — the materials of fine fragrance, composed in our own lab. Full ingredient and allergen information is available in advance.
Fulton Market Saturdays go earliest
We take a limited number of events per date. In practice West Loop venues book further ahead than anywhere else we work, and the freight window often books before the room does. Therefore secure both early.
