An Arlington Heights perfume bar built for a rented room

We bring a fully staffed perfume bar to Arlington Heights homes, park district rooms and downtown venues. Every guest blends a custom fragrance and bottles it to take home — and we already work to the rental rules.

What is an Arlington Heights perfume bar?

An Arlington Heights perfume bar is a hosted fragrance station brought to your home or venue, where each guest blends a custom eau de parfum from a scent library and bottles it to take home. It runs one to two hours as an open station, so guests take part when they want rather than sitting down together.

Glitters & Grace brings everything — the scent library, equipment, styling and hosts. An Arlington Heights perfume bar starts at around $500, with no travel fee anywhere in the northwest suburbs. Every fragrance is formulated by trained perfumers in our own Illinois lab.

In practice Arlington Heights hosts an unusual amount of its social life in rented rooms rather than at home, and the park district is the reason why. Because the facilities here are better than most suburbs get, residents book them constantly.

Consequently the vendor question is not whether your activity is good. It is whether you can satisfy a rental agreement — certificate of insurance naming the district, an agreed setup window, and everything out by the stated time.

We do all three as standard. Therefore the room booking and the vendor booking move at the same pace rather than one holding up the other.

Meanwhile downtown Arlington Heights has private rooms within walking distance of the Metra, which suits an evening event.

Book the room and the vendor together.

Park district rooms and Saturday dates both fill early. Therefore send us the date as soon as you have the room, and we will file the certificate immediately.

Why an Arlington Heights perfume bar fits a rental agreement

Rental rooms come with rules, and most of them exist because of what other vendors have done. For example: no open flame, nothing that stains, and everything out by the stated time.

A perfume bar clears all of it. There is no heat source, nothing wet, and nothing poured that could mark a floor. Because the whole setup breaks down into cases, pack-out is quick and predictable.

In addition, we serve no food or drink, so a room with a catering restriction is unaffected. Consequently the approval conversation is usually one email.

Meanwhile the footprint is small enough for the smaller rooms in the district — about 12 x 6 feet, and several stations run without power at all.

"In Arlington Heights the room usually has rules. We are already inside all of them."

Where we set up

Where an Arlington Heights perfume bar sets up

One table is all we need. Meanwhile, we work to whatever your venue requires.

Arlington Heights homes and clubhouses. One table is enough.

At home

Arlington Heights · Mount Prospect · Buffalo Grove · Prospect Heights

A dining table or kitchen island is enough, and we bring our own table if yours is spoken for by food. Because most homes here have a driveway and a level entrance, load-in is straightforward.

We arrive about an hour early, style the bar completely, and pack out with the table as we found it.

  • About 12 x 6 feet, two 6-foot tables and a standard outlet
  • Setup and full cleanup always included
  • No travel fee anywhere in the northwest suburbs

At a venue

Park district facilities · Downtown venues · Clubhouses · Banquet rooms

The Arlington Heights Park District has some of the best rentable event space in the northwest suburbs, and downtown has private rooms near the station.

We issue certificates of insurance naming the district or venue at no charge, agree a setup window in advance, and pack out to the stated time. Therefore nothing about our booking risks your deposit.

  • Certificates naming the park district, free
  • No open flame, nothing wet, nothing that stains
  • Pack-out to the time your agreement states

How it runs

How an Arlington Heights perfume bar works

Four stages, about ninety minutes end to end. Nothing needs preparing in advance.

1

We set up

First, we arrive about an hour before you want to start and style the bar completely. Nobody has to be ready when we get there.

2

Choose a base

Then each guest picks a base style to build on. Signage suggests combinations, so nobody stares at a blank page.

3

Blend and test

Next, layer from the scent library, testing on paper and adjusting. Two to four minutes each, and guests can return.

4

Bottle it

Finally, fill and cap your own bottle and take it home the same day. Afterward we pack out completely.

Every perfume made is an eau de parfum at 50–60% fragrance material to perfumer's alcohol. In other words, it is a genuine concentration rather than a scented water, which is why it is still with you at the end of the evening.

Match it to your room

Arlington Heights perfume bar sizing, by guest count

Headcount changes the right answer more than budget does. So here is how we would scope it.

10–25

One station, one host. A smaller district room or a dining room at this size gives everyone real time at the bar.

25–60

One station, two hosts. The most common Arlington Heights booking, and the usual size for a shower or a milestone birthday.

60–150

Two stations. Because one holds guests while the other moves them, a banquet room never queues at a single table.

150+

Multi-station, expanded team. Placed across the floor plan with staffing scaled to your run of show.

What should you budget?

Arlington Heights perfume bar bookings start at around $500. From there, pricing scales with guest count, station count, staffing and time on site. Meanwhile custom labels and additional branding are itemized separately, so nothing appears as a surprise on the invoice.

There is no travel fee anywhere in the northwest suburbs. In addition, there are no service fees and no automatic gratuity.

Why Glitters & Grace

A trained perfumer, not a rented table

Cheryl Gleason has been building perfume bars and formulating fragrance for over a decade. She is a trained perfumer and a cosmetic and skincare formulator. Furthermore, every accord and formula we bring to Arlington Heights was composed in her own lab in New Lenox, Illinois.

That matters for practical reasons. For example, a guest will ask what is in the bottle, and our hosts can answer. Someone will mention a sensitivity, and we have full disclosures ready. Finally, the host will ask what happens if everyone arrives at once — and we have already staffed for it.

We work with absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils rather than the pre-blended fragrance oils sold for candles and soap. As a result, what your guests make actually wears like a fragrance.

Before you ask

Arlington Heights perfume bar: common questions

How much is an Arlington Heights perfume bar?

From around $500. Pricing scales with guest count, station count, staffing and time on site. Materials, take-home bottles, hosts, styling, setup and cleanup are included, with no travel fee in the northwest suburbs.

Do you work in park district rooms?

Yes, regularly. Therefore we issue certificates naming the district at no charge, agree a setup window in advance, and pack out to the time your agreement states.

Will you meet the rental rules on flame and staining?

Yes. There is no heat source, no open flame, nothing wet and nothing poured that could mark a floor. Consequently we clear the usual restrictions comfortably.

Can we book a room with a catering restriction?

Yes — we serve no food or drink at all. Therefore a catering clause does not apply to us.

How quickly do you pack out?

To whatever time your agreement states. The whole setup breaks down into cases, so pack-out is quick and predictable rather than open-ended.

How much space do you need?

About 12 x 6 feet, two 6-foot tables and a standard outlet. Several stations run without power, so the smaller district rooms work fine.

Which towns do you serve nearby?

Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Des Plaines and Park Ridge, with no travel fee.

Is it messy?

No — it is the tidiest thing we do. Dry, contained, on a covered surface, and nothing is left behind.

How far in advance should we book?

Six to eight weeks for most Saturdays, and further for spring and December. In practice the park district room usually books before we do.

What is actually in the perfume?

Absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils — the materials of fine fragrance, composed in our own lab. Full ingredient and allergen information is available in advance.

Park district rooms book before vendors do

We take a limited number of events per date. In practice the district calendar fills before ours does, so the room is usually the constraint. Therefore secure it first and send us the date the moment you have it.
