A Calm Employee Wellness Event for North Shore Hospitals and Offices

An employee wellness event on the North Shore often begins with the people who keep hospitals and campuses running. Endeavor Health operates Evanston, Glenbrook, and Highland Park hospitals. Meanwhile, Northwestern University is the largest employer in Evanston.

Our Bath & Body Bar meets those teams where they work. It is a styled apothecary spread (apothecary is the old word for a pharmacy), set with glass jars, botanicals, and soft linens. Then a host helps each guest make a soothing set in about twenty minutes.

Why an employee wellness event works on the North Shore

Each guest starts with foaming bath salts or fine Himalayan salts. After that, they add a sugar scrub or body oil, plus botanicals such as rose petals or dried citrus. They also choose a premium fragrance, made from the same natural materials our founder, a trained perfumer, uses in perfume. Finally, a handmade bath bomb completes the set.

There is nothing to win, so no one feels left out. In addition, the bar moves quickly, so a nurse on a short break can still finish. That's why a North Shore employee wellness event with our bar works for a whole unit, not just the people who can step away for an hour. Our most requested North Shore wellness bookings are hospital shift appreciation during Nurses Week, an employee self-care day for office staff, a quiet event during Mental Health Awareness Month, and fresh wellness week ideas for university departments.

Who books an employee wellness event on the North Shore

Hospital and clinic teams

Nurses Week in May books early, so plan ahead. Because hospitals never close, we staff the bar across shift changes, so night staff aren't an afterthought. Staff appreciation days work the same way.

University and nonprofit offices

Large employers such as Northwestern, plus nonprofit headquarters like Rotary International, often plan a wellness week for their staff. Our bar gives that week a calm, hands-on day, and the jars carry your program's name if you like.

Advisory firms and small practices

Wealth advisors and professional practices often have small, close teams. For a group of 20 or fewer, we suggest pairing with our corporate skincare bar, which is seated and hosted by licensed estheticians.

Scrubs and oilsSugar scrubs and body oils for a soothing ritual at home.
BotanicalsRose petals, dried citrus, and other botanicals to finish each jar.
Scent and a bath bombEach guest chooses a premium fragrance, then picks a handmade bath bomb to round out the set.

The bar is a styled apothecary spread. Apothecary is the old word for a pharmacy, and our bar has that look: glass jars, botanicals, and soft linens. Each guest spends about twenty calm minutes with a host, and then everything is jarred and labeled at the station. Because it runs without power at most venues and needs no water, it fits a lobby, a cafeteria, a break room, or a benefits fair. We also staff it to cover your shifts.

Guests can make a product to take home without applying anything to their skin. Full ingredient and allergen details are on our allergens and safety page. For a small leadership group, the corporate skincare bar on the North Shore is a seated alternative. For a bigger celebration, however, pair the bar with the corporate perfume bar so two stations spread people out.

North Shore spaces for a wellness event

Many North Shore wellness days happen right in the office or hospital. However, a few local venues also suit an off-site gathering.

Your office or a private home

A break room, staff lounge, or conference room is usually enough, since we need about 12 by 6 feet. Plus, no water hookup is required.

Hilton Orrington/Evanston

On Orrington Avenue, its Grand Ballroom seats up to 500, so a wellness station fits easily beside a larger staff gathering.

Winnetka Community House

The Garden Reception Hall holds up to 200 at tables. It especially suits a relaxed staff appreciation lunch.

Ravinia

In Highland Park, Ravinia rents private event space from October through May. As a result, a spring wellness day there can feel like a true outing.

Planning notes for North Shore

  • Plan around shift handoffsTell us when each hospital shift starts and ends. Then we place hosts so the bar is open as one team leaves and the next arrives.
  • Nurses Week labelsFor Nurses Week, custom labels with your logo or wellness program name are a lovely touch. Still, they print in advance, so order about four weeks before May.
  • Getting there by trainMetra's Union Pacific North line runs up the shore, while the CTA Purple Line serves Evanston. So staff can often reach an off-site venue without driving.
  • Distance and paperworkEvanston is about 43 miles from our Mokena studio, and Highland Park is about 53. We arrive an hour before the first guest and send a COI, or certificate of insurance, which is the proof of coverage venues ask for.

Employee wellness event North Shore FAQs

Can we plan an employee wellness event North Shore night staff can join, too?

Yes. Share your shift times, and we will staff the bar to cover them. It can even run all day, so every shift has a turn.

Is this a good fit for Mental Health Awareness Month?

It can be a gentle way to mark the month. We describe it simply as a calm break and a soothing gift, not a treatment. Then you can pair it with your own resources and programming.

What if our team is only 15 people?

For 20 or fewer, our corporate skincare bar is a lovely choice, since guests sit with licensed estheticians. Alternatively, the Bath & Body Bar still works well for a small office.

Do you travel to Evanston, Wilmette, and Highland Park?

Yes. We cover the shore from Evanston north to Highland Park. Because we bring everything, we only need the space and your schedule.

Can staff with sensitivities take part?

Yes. Guests can make something to take home without applying anything to their skin. Also, full ingredient and allergen disclosures are on our allergens and safety page.
