A New Lenox perfume bar, made about ten minutes away
Every fragrance we bring to an event — in Chicago, in Milwaukee, in Indianapolis — is composed in our lab in New Lenox. So when we set up in a New Lenox living room, the materials have travelled about ten minutes to get there.
What is a New Lenox perfume bar?
A New Lenox perfume bar is a hosted fragrance station brought to your home or venue, where each guest blends a custom eau de parfum from a scent library and bottles it to take home. It runs one to two hours as an open station, so guests take part when they want rather than sitting down together.
Glitters & Grace brings everything — the scent library, equipment, styling and hosts. A New Lenox perfume bar starts at around $500, with no travel fee anywhere in Will County or the southwest suburbs. Every fragrance is formulated by trained perfumers in our own Illinois lab.
Glitters & Grace is a New Lenox company and the lab where every accord and base is composed sits in this village.
There are no travel fees and short-notice dates are easier here than anywhere else we work.
Our studio and party room is in neighboring Mokena, which means a New Lenox host can choose between us coming to them and them coming to us. Very few of our markets get both.Short notice is genuinely fine here.
Because there is no travel to plan and the materials are already in the village, New Lenox dates can often be arranged in a couple of weeks rather than six.

Why a New Lenox perfume bar is the easiest booking we take
Every other market involves a drive, a load plan and materials packed the day before. Here it is a ten-minute run from the lab.
Short-notice dates become possible rather than a scramble. A late change to the guest count is absorbed without a problem. And if something is forgotten, it is retrieved rather than worked around.
In addition, this is where the scent library was built, so the person who composed what is on the table is often the person setting it up. Therefore the questions guests ask get answered by whoever made the answer.
"Everything we bring anywhere is made in New Lenox. Setting up here is the shortest trip we take."Cheryl Gleason, Owner & Perfumer
Where we set up
Where a New Lenox perfume bar sets up
One table is all we need. Meanwhile, we work to whatever your venue requires.
At home
New Lenox · Mokena · Frankfort · Manhattan · Lincoln-Way district
A dining table or kitchen island is enough, and we bring our own table if yours is spoken for by food. Because most New Lenox homes have a driveway and a level entrance, load-in is about as simple as it gets.
We arrive about an hour early, style the bar completely, and pack out with the table as we found it.
- About 12 x 6 feet, two 6-foot tables and a standard outlet
- Short-notice dates far easier than in other markets
- Setup and full cleanup always included
At a venue
Village venues · Halls & clubs · Our Mokena studio, minutes away
New Lenox has village halls, clubs and private rooms that suit a shower, a graduation or a milestone birthday, and we work in all of them.
Alternatively, our studio in Mokena is a few minutes up the road and holds up to 40, with the room styled and cleanup included. Therefore a New Lenox host can pick whichever is less work.
- Certificates of insurance provided free
- No food service, so no F&B minimum applies
- Or book our Mokena studio instead

How it runs
How a New Lenox perfume bar works
Four stages, about ninety minutes end to end. Nothing needs preparing in advance.
We set up
First, we arrive about an hour before you want to start and style the bar completely. Nobody has to be ready when we get there.
Choose a base
Then each guest picks a base style to build on. Signage suggests combinations, so nobody stares at a blank page.
Blend and test
Next, layer from the scent library, testing on paper and adjusting. Two to four minutes each, and guests can return.
Bottle it
Finally, fill and cap your own bottle and take it home the same day. Afterward we pack out completely.
Every perfume made is an eau de parfum at 50–60% fragrance material to perfumer's alcohol. In other words, it is a genuine concentration rather than a scented water, which is why it is still with you at the end of the evening.
Match it to your room
New Lenox perfume bar sizing, by guest count
Headcount changes the right answer more than budget does. So here is how we would scope it.
One station, one host. Everyone gets real time at the bar. For instance, a shower or a milestone birthday at home.
One station, two hosts. The most common New Lenox booking, and the size where the room gets loud early.
Two stations. Because one holds guests while the other moves them, a village hall never queues at a single table.
Multi-station, expanded team. Placed across the floor plan with staffing scaled to your run of show.
What should you budget?
New Lenox perfume bar bookings start at around $500. From there, pricing scales with guest count, station count, staffing and time on site. Meanwhile custom labels and additional branding are itemized separately, so nothing appears as a surprise on the invoice.
There is no travel fee anywhere in Will County or the southwest suburbs. In addition, there are no service fees and no automatic gratuity.

Why Glitters & Grace
A trained perfumer, not a rented table
Cheryl Gleason has been building perfume bars and formulating fragrance for over a decade. She is a trained perfumer and a cosmetic and skincare formulator. Furthermore, every accord and formula we bring to New Lenox was composed in her own lab in New Lenox, Illinois.
That matters for practical reasons. For example, a guest will ask what is in the bottle, and our hosts can answer.
We work with fine fragrance and perfume materials. As a result, what your guests make actually wears like a fragrance.
Before you ask
New Lenox perfume bar: common questions
How much is a New Lenox perfume bar?
From around $500. Pricing scales with guest count, station count, staffing and time on site. Materials, take-home bottles, hosts, styling, setup and cleanup are all included, with no travel fee anywhere in Will County.
Is your lab really in New Lenox?
Yes. Every accord, base and signature scent we bring to an event — in Chicago, Milwaukee or Indianapolis — is composed in our New Lenox lab. Consequently a booking here is the closest one we do to where the fragrance was made.
Can you take a short-notice booking?
Here, usually yes. Because there is no travel to plan and the materials are already in the village, New Lenox dates can often be arranged in a couple of weeks rather than six. Therefore it is always worth asking.
Should we come to your studio instead?
It is worth considering, and it is a few minutes away in Mokena. The studio holds up to 40, the room is styled before you arrive and cleanup is ours. For smaller groups it is often the easier choice. About the studio.
How much space do you need?
About 12 x 6 feet, two 6-foot tables and a standard outlet. Several stations run without power. Furthermore, we bring our own tables if yours are spoken for.
Is it messy? It is at our house.
No — it is the tidiest thing we do. Perfume blending is dry and contained, using pipettes, small beakers and paper testing strips on a covered surface. Afterward we pack out completely.
Which towns do you serve nearby?
New Lenox, Mokena, Frankfort, Manhattan, Homer Glen, Lockport, Joliet, Shorewood, Tinley Park and Orland Park, with no travel fee and identical pricing.
Can you do a village hall or club?
Yes, and we do regularly. We issue certificates of insurance naming the venue at no charge and work to whatever the booking requires.
How far in advance should we book?
Six to eight weeks for most Saturdays, and further for spring and December. However, New Lenox is the one market where a shorter lead time frequently works.
What is actually in the perfume?
Absolutes, CO2 extracts and essential oils — the materials of fine fragrance, composed here in New Lenox. Full ingredient and allergen information is available in advance.
The one market where short notice usually works
We take a limited number of events per date, and Saturdays still fill first. However, because New Lenox needs no travel plan and the materials are already here, a date a few weeks out is far more workable than it would be elsewhere. Therefore ask, even if it feels late.
