When love meets luxury, magic happens—and that’s exactly what unfolded at a stunning wedding reception hosted at The Drake Oak Brook, one of Chicagoland’s most iconic venues. With its grand ballroom, manicured gardens, and timeless architecture, The Drake was the perfect setting for a celebration that blended tradition with sensory innovation.
The bride and groom welcomed 180 guests to their reception, transforming the space into a romantic haven of candlelight, soft florals, and curated elegance. Nestled between the champagne tower and the dessert bar, our Glitters and Grace Perfume Bar became a radiant focal point. We drew in curious guests with its mood-based scent archetypes, elegant signage, and mix-and-match bottle display.
While the majority of guests who visited the perfume bar were women—mothers, bridesmaids, and best friends eager to create something personal—we were delighted to blend for several gentlemen as well. Some crafted fragrances for themselves, while others thoughtfully blended for their wives or partners, choosing accords that reflected shared memories or favorite notes.
One guest, a father of the bride, selected a calming lavender and cedarwood blend “to remind her of home.” Another couple created matching scents—hers with jasmine and bergamot, his with vetiver and black tea—each labeled with their wedding date and a shared archetype: Devoted.
